These are green oak beams and floor joists on a new build property in Great Shefford near Lambourn Berkshire where the green oak being very acidic, has reacted with the metal of the machine blades to leave dark stains.

Very careful and sympathetic blast cleaning to remove the old paint from these beams in this grade 2 listed property as part of a full renovation.

Blasting was carried out before the woodworm treatment to allow the fluid to penetrate into the timbers and kill any wood worm.

Paramount Pools in Newbury asked Blastaway to remove the existing varnish coating from their exterior log cabin showroom.

The varnish had seen better days and was badly peeling in places and looked tatty.   Blastaway were called in to remove the varnish layer and prepare for re-coating.

Green Oak Cleaning at a Lambourn Barn Conversion

Blastaway were asked by a local builder to blast clean a new green oak internal roof structure.

The building process usually leaves machining marks as well as some water stains and tannin marks.

These show up on the timber and are unsightly so blast cleaning removes all the marks to leave a clean uniform appearance.
